Meet Our Emcee, Julie Chapman
Julie Chapman is the morning anchor at Spectrum News and the host of LIVE at 7. A charter member who helped launch the news channel, Julie is a veteran in television news with more than 25 years of professional broadcasting experience. Before the Capital Region, she worked at WBAL-TV NBC affiliate in Baltimore where she was the weekend anchor for their top-rated newscast.
Julie has covered presidential politics from Washington, D.C., anchored live as major hurricanes slammed the east coast, and interviewed well-known figures in news and sports, including Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. In addition to anchoring, she was a WBAL general assignment reporter. Julie also worked weekly with Johns Hopkins Hospital on award-winning health reports for NBC New Channel. Julie recently earned a Master’s Degree, with distinction, from The College of Saint Rose in Communications & Journalism. She takes part in high school mentoring programs and cares strongly about empowering young girls and women to achieve their dreams.
